Report of Road Show held on 07-08-2013 at Varanasi

Tourist always remains at Varanasi but especially in the month of Shravan, large number of tourists (Kanvarias) come to Varanasi from far away to worship at different holy places. After performing their puja etc. they purchase benarasi sarees. Eid is also in the same month. All Muslims also purchase clothes on the occasion of Eid. Keeping this in mind,undersigned had organized a road show on 07-08-2013 in the series of silk mark publicity campaign. During the roadshow,anartistwas distributing silk mark pamphlets with walking on sticks. He was requesting all to look for silk mark while purchasing silk to avoid cheating. Mr. Vishal Kumar and undersigned were helping him through the road show. Around 800 pamphlets containing information like name of authorized users with their contact number, silk testing, silk caring and fusion label certification were distributed through the artist. Pamphlets were distributed during the road show at Durgakund, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Tridev Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple, Sant Ravidas Gate and Assighat etc.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME HELD ON 28.01.13

Silk Mark Organisation of India, Mumbai Chapter , had organized awareness programme on Silk Mark on 28.01.13 for staff and salespersons of M/s. Adarsh-Bhimavastram, Kolhapur. The Programme was mainly attended by approx. 45 staff members who were very keen to know about the Silk & Silk Mark Scheme. Presentation on Silk and Silk Mark Scheme was given by Shri Alok Kumar, Executive, SMOI, Mumbai Chapter. He explained in detail the Silk Mark Scheme & its benefits to common consumer. Silk Mark information Brochure & handbills were distributed. Shri Alok Kumar, Executive displayed different varieties of cocoons, raw silk and silk fabrics swatches for knowledge of the audience. Silk products with Silk Mark tag and hologram duly attached were also on display for information and awareness among staff members. He also explained the testing methods of Silk & answered all the queries raised by audience.

ROAD SHOW AT TEXTILE EXHIBITION PARAMPARIK KARIGAR

ASSOCIATION OF CORPORATIONS & APEX SOCIETIES OF HANDLOOMS (ACASH) had organized “ National level Special Handloom Expo 2013-SILKS & COTTONS ” from 26.12.12 . to 08.01.13 at Belapur Haat, Navi Mumbai. This Expo is sponsored by D.C. Handloom, Ministry of Textiles , Govt. of India, New Delhi. In its effort to popularize Silk Mark in Navi Mumbai , Silk Mark Organisation of India, Mumbai Chapter had organised Road Show on 07.01.13 to aware the Silk customer regarding Silk Mark Scheme & its importance. Shri Alok Kumar, Executive, had put up a Silk Mark booth in the Expo ground. In this place there was a firm stream of guests from all section of society-viz. common public, entrepreneurs, and exporters who enquired about this new scheme. Approx. 2000 visitors were visited the Silk Mark booth. Detailed information about the Silk Mark Scheme were given to every visitors of the stall. Sample Silk Sarees with Silk Mark Label & hologram were also on display for information and awareness among consumers. Majority of the visitors were glad to know the benefit of the scheme and agreed that it would help them while purchasing pure silk products. List carrying the names of Silk Mark AU’s of Mumbai city were circulated. The dockets containing all information about Silk Mark Scheme were distributed to all interested parties & curious visitors.

ROAD SHOW AT TEXTILE EXHIBITION PARAMPARIK KARIGAR

A N A S S O C I A T I O N O F C R A F T S P E R S O N S “ PARAMPARIK KARIGAR” had organized Textile Exhibition at Kamla Raheja Hall , JUHU, Mumbai. Shri Alok Kumar, Executive, SMOI, Mumbai Chapter had organized Silk Mark Road Show on 25.01.13 for Silk Mark Promotion among prospective Authorised User and awareness among visitors of the expo. This Expo had more than 25 participants. During the event, it was noticed that there were 06 Authorised User of Silk Mark & 02 Prospective Authorised Users of Silk Mark. Docket containing detailed information about the scheme was given to the Prospective Authorised User of Silk Mark. Silk Mark Posters, & Stickers were distributed to Silk Mark Authorised User for decoration of their stall for Silk Mark publicity & awareness among consumers. List carrying the A U’s of Silk Mark in Mumbai were distributed to consumers in the Expo. Approx. 300 consumers were interviewed for discussion on Silk Mark Scheme.

Participation in Times's Exhibition Mumbai Shopping Festival
In its efforts to popularize Silk Mark in Mumbai, SMOI Mumbai Chapter had participated in "MUMBAI SHOPPING FESTIVAL "organized by EXPO INDIA EXHIBITIONS PVT. LTD. AND TIMES EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS from 13.02.13 to 17.02.13 at MMRDA Grounds, BKC, Bandra, Mumbai .Silk Mark Organization India, Mumbai Chapter had put up a stall in the Expo for promotion of Silk Mark Scheme and to aware the common silk consumer about Silk Mark and its importance. Nearly 10,000 consumers were visited the Silk Mark stall. In this stall there was a steady flow of visitors from all segment of society-viz. general public, students, fashion designers, exporters and entrepreneurs who enquired about this scheme. Comprehensive information about the Silk Mark Scheme were given to every visitors of the stall. Model silk sarees / madeups with Silk Mark Label & hologram were on display for information and awareness among consumers. Majority of the visitors were glad to know the benefit of the scheme and agreed that it would help them while purchasing pure silk products. Public flocked to the Silk Mark stall and enquired about the availability of Silk Mark products in Mumbai. List carrying the AU's of Silk Mark were distributed. This event was publicised in an extraordinary way in Mumbai. The Times of India has published a write up on Silk Mark scheme & carried SILK MARK LOGO in Expo advertisement everyday during the period of exhibition.

Road Shows held on 27 & 28 Feb -2013
The Varanasi chapter organized a road show on 27.02.2013 at the religious locations of Sarnath. It was thought to be appropriate to popularize silk mark among the large number of men, women & tourists by distributing Silk Mark leaflets, through a Silk Mark canopy in front of Buddhist temples at Sarnath about fifteen kms away from the city. Sarnath is a historically religious hamlet known worldwide for its Buddhist significance. Local and foreign tourists flock visit at Sarnath to witness the places and relics related to Lord Buddha. The different verities of silk samples were displayed along with different verities of cocoons and yarns for the general information of visitors. Silk testing techniques were also demonstrated to the visitors. About 300 leaflets containing informations about authorized users, Silk Mark, silk testing, silk caring and Fusion label were distributed through the Canopy for publicity.

Another similar Road show organized on 28.02.2013 afternoon at the Assi Ghat of river Ganga. About 275 leaflets were distributed through the Canopy for publicity of Silk Mark. The photos of road show are being sent by E-mail.

Report of Workshop held on 01-02-2013 (Friday)
Varanasi chapter of Silk Mark Organisation of India organised an workshop to spread the massage of Silk Mark among the silk weavers/traders on 1st February 2013 at Jamiya Arabiya Jiyaul Ulum (Madarsha), Kachhi bagh, Varanasi.
The Workshop was conducted by the undersigned at the Madarsha Auditorium. Around 110 silk weavers/traders were present. First of all undersigned welcomed Shri Hazi mohd. Yasin Ansari, Chief guest and Mr. Azizuddin, coardinator of the programme. The "Silk Mark Scheme" was explained by power point presentation encluding silk mark Fusion Label, procedure of it's authentication and importance/role of Silk Mark in consumer protection. The burning test and chemical test by sodium hydroxide (NaOH) was demonstrated for testing of purity of silk. The different types of silk samples were also displayed along with different varieties of cocoons and yarns for the general information of weavers/participants. Leaflets which contain informations about Authorised Users, silk testing, silk caring and Silk Mark including Fusion label were distributed among the participants of workshop for publicity. The weavers showed keen interest in the programme. The programme was followed by question answer session. The media reporters were also addressed during presentation. The doubts of participants/Media reporters were answered to their full satisfaction. Chief guest Hazi Mohd. Yasin Ansari appreciate the programme and appealed the participants of Silk Traders to become AUs of Silk Mark and use Silk Mark on their Silk products for better marketability. The event was covered by 7 print & 2 electronic media. Some of the soft photos and press cliping are being sent seperately.
