Objectives of Silk Mark Expo

• To provide a platform to the Authorised Users (AUs) to showcase and sell an array of intricate silk designs produced by the silk manufacturers / traders.

• To enthral the silk lovers by presenting them with an array of silk collection hailing from the far-flung weaving clusters of India under one roof.

• To create awareness among the masses about Silk Mark.

• Generic promotions of Indian Silks.

• Provide a hassle free shopping with an Assurance of Pure Silk.

Who organises the Silk Mark Expo?

Silk Mark Organisation of India organises Expos through Regional Chapters across the country.

Who can be the Exhibitors?

As the expo title suggests, only the Silk Mark Authorised Users can participate in the Silk Mark Expo as Exhibitors.
A Non-AU Silk dealer who wishes to participate in the Expos shall first seek enrolment as an Authorised User through their nearest SMOI Chapter, before seeking admission into the Silk Mark Expo.

Selection of Exhibitors

Admission to the Expo is given to only those manufactures / traders with a clean track record. This is with a view to maintain the reputation and credibility of the Silk Mark Expo.
Care will be taken to avoid too many representations form one region with the same product design.
Exhibitors are selected in such a way as to provide an equitable distribution of all product range, silk producing regions, and traditional weaving heritages.

Products allowed

The first and foremost condition for participation in the Silk Mark Expos is that only pure silk products can be displayed or sold in the Expo.
All products displayed in the Expo will be tagged invariably with Silk Mark tags duly affixed with hologram.
Silk Mark Executives will keep a vigil on the products displayed or sold at the Expo counter.
Non – silk products, if found in any stall, the party shall be warned first and asked to remove such products forthwith. In case of persistent occurrence of unauthorised display inspite of the warnings, the Executive on duty shall file a written report to the Chapter –in –charge who on confirmation of the veracity of the complaint will ask the errant exhibitor to close down his stall forthwith. Further, the Chapter –in –charge will forward his report to the CEO, SMOI recommending debarring the party from participation in any future Silk Mark Expo.
